Who are strong nicotine pouches for?
Strong nicotine pouches are for adults who already use nicotine and have built up a tolerance to regular-strength products. If you've been using pouches at 6-10mg and they don't feel like enough any more, moving up makes sense.
If you're new to nicotine pouches, this is not where you start. Head to our light or regular strength collections and work out what suits you before considering anything stronger. We also have a guide to using nicotine pouches if you've never tried them.
What counts as "strong"?
Nicotine pouch strength isn't standardised across brands, which makes comparison awkward. One brand's "strong" might sit at 9mg per pouch while another's is 17mg. The label alone doesn't tell you much — you need to look at the actual mg figure and understand what format the pouch comes in.
Here's how the strength bands roughly break down across the brands we stock:
| Strength band | Typical nicotine range | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Strong | 9mg - 17mg per pouch | Regular pouch users who want more intensity without going to extremes |
| Extra strong | 17mg - 30mg per pouch | Experienced users with a well-established tolerance |
| Ultra strong | 30mg+ per pouch | Only for users who are very familiar with high-nicotine products and know their limits |
Those numbers aren't rules. They shift depending on whether the brand measures per pouch or per gram, whether the pouch is moist or dry, and how large it is. A slim dry pouch at 30mg will release nicotine differently to a moist regular pouch at the same figure. More on that below.
The brands worth comparing
Pablo
Pablo is probably the first name that comes up when people talk about strong nicotine pouches in the UK. The brand runs three tiers: Silver Edition at 10.15mg (regular strength, so not relevant here), Gold Edition at 17mg, and the standard Pablo line at 30mg per pouch.
The 30mg range is where most Pablo buyers end up. It includes Ice Cold, Frosted Mint, Green Mint and a long list of fruit options like Watermelon Lemon, Strawberry Lychee and Pineapple. There are also Dry and Mini formats at the same 30mg level, which deliver nicotine a bit more slowly because there's less moisture in the pouch.
Pablo Gold sits in between at 17mg and comes in flavours like Frosted Mint, Grape Ice, Tropical Punch and Dark Cherry. It's a good middle ground if standard Pablo feels like too much but you want something with more presence than a regular-strength pouch.
Killa
Killa is the other brand that dominates the strong pouch space in the UK. The range is wide — 76 products on our shelves right now — and they lean hard into flavour variety. Cold Mint, Grape Ice, Pineapple Ice, Watermelon, Banana Ice, Mango Ice, Cola, Blueberry, Spearmint. If you can think of a flavour, Killa probably makes it.
Where Pablo tends to be known for raw strength, Killa balances strength with flavour. That makes them a decent option for users who want something strong but also care about taste. Their Original line is where most people start.
Cuba
Cuba is less talked about than Pablo or Killa but worth knowing if you're comparing strong pouches. The Cuba Black line covers a solid flavour range — Watermelon, Pineapple, Ice Spearmint, Double Fresh (a mint/menthol blend), Cola, Cherry, Blueberry, Tropical Fruit, Raspberry and Forest Berries.
Cuba Black pouches sit in the strong category and offer a different feel to Pablo's more aggressive strength profile. If you've tried Pablo and Killa and want something else in that bracket, Cuba is where we'd point you next.
How to actually compare strength between brands
The mg number on the tin isn't the whole picture. Here's what else matters.
mg per pouch vs mg per gram
Some brands list nicotine per pouch, others per gram of pouch material. A pouch that weighs 0.7g with 16mg/g has about 11.2mg of nicotine in it. A pouch that weighs 1g with 16mg/g has 16mg. Same concentration, different actual dose. Always check whether the number refers to the pouch or the material.
Pouch moisture
Moist pouches release nicotine faster because the moisture helps absorption through the gum. Dry pouches release more slowly but can last longer. A 30mg dry pouch won't feel the same as a 30mg moist pouch in the first few minutes — the dry one ramps up more gradually.
Pablo's Dry range is a good example. Same 30mg as the standard line, but the experience is stretched out. Some users prefer that slower release.
Pouch size
Mini pouches are smaller and more discreet, but they contain less material. A mini at 30mg often feels different to a regular-format pouch at the same figure because there's less surface area sitting against your gum.
Flavour intensity
Mint and menthol flavours can make a pouch feel sharper and more intense than the nicotine alone would suggest. If you're trying a strong mint pouch for the first time, it might feel more aggressive than a fruit pouch at the same strength. That's the flavour, not extra nicotine.
What if a pouch feels too strong?
Take it out. It's that simple. You don't need to push through discomfort.
If you feel dizzy, nauseous or generally unwell, remove the pouch immediately, drink some water and wait for the feeling to pass. This is more common with extra strong and ultra strong products, especially if you've jumped up in strength too quickly.
A better approach is to move up one strength band at a time. If regular-strength pouches (6-10mg) aren't enough, try strong (9-17mg) before going to extra strong (17-30mg). Skipping straight to ultra strong is not something we'd recommend for anyone.

Frequently asked questions
What are strong nicotine pouches?
Nicotine pouches that contain a higher concentration of nicotine than regular-strength products — typically 9mg and above per pouch. They're tobacco-free, placed under the upper lip and designed for adult nicotine users who have an established tolerance.
Are strong nicotine pouches suitable for beginners?
No. If you're new to nicotine pouches, start with light or regular strength. Moving to strong products before you know your tolerance can cause nausea and dizziness.
What is the difference between strong and extra strong?
Strong pouches typically sit between 9mg and 17mg per pouch. Extra strong products run from around 17mg up to 30mg. The exact numbers vary by brand, so always check the tin rather than relying on the label alone.
Are Pablo and Killa strong?
Both brands are well known for their stronger products. Pablo's standard line sits at 30mg per pouch (extra strong), with a Gold tier at 17mg (strong). Killa's Original range is positioned in the strong category with a wide selection of flavours.
What should I do if a pouch feels too strong?
Remove it straight away. Drink water and wait for any discomfort to pass. If you regularly find pouches too intense, drop down a strength band. There's no benefit to using a strength that makes you feel unwell.
